Our In-Patient Villa
The Villa is Americare’s five-bed inpatient unit. The purpose of the in -patient villa is to serve the needs of patients and their family in an environment that is not reminiscent of a hospital or other institutional care setting, but instead feels warm, welcoming and like home. The villa is mainly available to Gilbert patients that are in need of intensive, short term care to help with symptoms that cannot be treated at home, but is also available for patients during the end-stage of their illness. Americare also houses “regular” hospice care patients so that family members or other caregivers are able to get a much needed and well deserved break (respite) from the continued care they have and will continue to provide. Of course, we have a medically experienced team available to take care of the in-patient patients. The villa is an especially relaxing environment with is spacious rooms, visitors’ quarters, a lovely outdoor courtyard, a kitchen, common area and even a chapel. In-Home Hospice Care
Gilbert in-home hospice care is very much what it sounds like. Hospice care in your (or the patient’s) home. In fact, more than 90% of hospice care is administered in the patient’s home. Hospice is not a place, as it is often assumed, but a care concept that assist people to live each day to their fullest potential. While most hospice patients have a limited prognosis of six to twelve months, Gilbert hospice care is not about giving up hope or getting ready to die. Quite the opposite, it is about living life and enjoying it as much as you can. Hospice care is not only for patients, but is comprehensive care for the entire family and support system of the patient. By offering support and care, we help the entire family unit, not just the patient. Studies have shown that patients who receive hospice care, outlive those who do not, which shows just what a terrific impact hospice care has on the quality of life.
